![]() ![]() It's like a bunch of "in jokes" or something. But it's almost - I'm sorry - I hate to say this word, but "silly". ![]() ![]() So unlike the people who are "missing something" in terms of compositional depth, yours has that depth - every measure is well written for example. And I don't mean that to be insulting but it seems like you are juxtaposing ideas like people do in order to make a comedic piece, but I don't think you intended it to be comedic. Your piece reminds me more of comedy acts - something a PDQ Bach would write or Victor Borge might play. In this case, I'd say "unintentionally humorous". So your piece is not quite like that, but there's a slight element of that to it - in a different way. It sounds like some old language on the surface because I'm using "hath" and "thine" and "nay" and words like "wrought" and "asunder" that are often associated with passages like that.īut it doesn't really mean anything - or it's not really formulated correctly. It's sort of (sort of) how we might say: "He that hath wrought thine sins nay be cast asunder". They have "surface elements" of classical music, but are lacking in a "truer understanding" of the style. If you think I'm crazy, that's OK too.įirst off, this is not the case for your piece, but MANY people who are interested in emulating Classical style come here and post "psuedo-classical" pieces. If someone else also mentions it, it's really worth considering. But, I mention all this because if you had any kind of thinking that "yeah, I was thinking eh same thing" when I mention it, I think then it's worth looking deeper into. ![]() I'm not trying to personally attack you or poo poo your music. You may not agree with me and that's fine. I'm only one person on the internet, so feel free to ignore me and don't get angry at me for expressing my opinions when you asked for comments. I'm going to give you my opinion - or maybe my "preferences". ![]()
